Take Back Bin

Big Stone County Sheriff's Office participates in the prescription take back program. This program is designed to safely dispose of household pharmaceuticals. The Sheriff's Office maintains a drop-box for expired, unused or unwanted pharmaceuticals to be safely dispose of.

The drop box is located on the main floor of the Big Stone County Courthouse at 20 SE 2nd Street, Ortonville, MN. This box is not monitored however is under surveillance cameras. These cameras well be recorded but not actively monitored.

The unused/un-wanted pharmaceuticals should remain in their original containers and the names and labels can be left on or taken off. Needles or sharps are recommended to not be placed in this bin.

This is a free service that is offered to the residence and the collected waste will be taken annually to an incinerator to be disposed of.
